SCOOTER was created in August 1998 by a queer anarcho punk girl collective in Sydney, Australia who wanted to provide a space for women muso's, performers, artists and zine makers to perform, exhibit and network.

The monthly SCOOTER gigs feature rock chix, girl bandz, women performers, spoken word, and independent merchandise. All sound and lighting at SCOOTER gigs are operated by women.

SCOOTSTAR records spun out of SCOOTER as an independent label for local talent. The third compilation CD is in the making and we hope to release it later this year.
